‘All we have is now’

Ceaseless Now is a three-sided album all about connection;

It was conceived, written and recorded during lockdown as part of a Masters in Songwriting research project. Instagram live streaming was utilised throughout the writing and recording process. This infuses the album with a real-time felt connection between writer, song and audience from its very conception.

Inspired by Kae Tempest’s brilliant meditation ‘On Connection’ (2020), Ceaseless Now invites the listener into a world of phenomenology, correlations and the simultaneity of beginning, ending & choice.

Phil Martin (instagram drum samples; co-writer on 'Hunted By Innocence') Jack Pinter (horns) Sammy Brown (cello) Joeri Pronk (synthscapes) malcs. 'Ancient roots delve deep. Young branches jut into the sky. Time passes round us. Through us. Touching the soft skin of our children. The moon rises. We are constantly in unstable motion, Growing or decaying. Truly. All we have is this moment. This breath. So breathe in. Breathe a little longer.'
